Testimonials

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping people and their much-loved dogs feel better, move more freely, and enjoy life with less pain and more ease.

Every client comes with their own story – whether it’s easing chronic tension, restoring mobility after injury, or giving an older dog a new lease on life. Below are some of their experiences, shared with gratitude and permission.

If you’re wondering how therapy could help you (or your dog), these stories may give you a better idea of what to expect.

Client: E.M., farrier.

Issue: Backache.  I have backache, it goes with the territory, but i got really bad and was taking painkillers every day for about 4 months.

Treatment: I went to see Ali on a Friday night, followed instructions over the weekend. Monday afternoon i realised that i hadn’t had a pill and wasn’t in pain. An amazing  fix. Now I go as routine and am better every time.

Ali says: When I first saw E.M. he said that he had dodged a kick from a horse he was shoeing, fell backwards and immediately experienced extreme pain in his right lower back. He had difficulty mobilising the following day and over a period of approximately 4 months it had become a lot worse to the point where he thought he may have to give up work and also stop running – he competed in 100 mile runs!

I gave him a full straighten up and corrected the misalignment in his pelvis  which was causing the main issue, gave him some gentle  exercises to do and arranged a follow up treatment for the following week.

Following appointment he reported that he felt great and had no pain apart from a stiffness in his left shoulder. I carried out a full alignment check – no issues – so gave him a back, neck, and shoulder massage to loosen up the soft tissue.

He continues to improve and comes in every 5/6 weeks for a maintenance appointment. He is generally pain free and was able to complete another 100 mile run!

Horse riders on the beach

Client: J.G, horse rider.

Issue: I fell of my horse 2 years ago and injured my pelvis. I went to the doctor numerous times but no one could work out what i had done. Eventually an MRI diagnosed Osteitis Pubis. I found it difficult to walk and was unable to lift anything, even driving was painful. Sadly i was also unable to ride my horse. I was very worried as there did not seem to be anything anyone could do to help.

Treatment: Luckily I was introduced to Ali when she came to ride my horse while i was out of action. She said she thought she could help. Ali’s treatment was gentle, non-intrusive and it worked. Within one treatment I could walk without pain and after the second I could ride again. Ali straightened my pubic bone and realigned everything. She is amazing. Her professional, calm, kind approach gave me confidence and her knowledge was exceptional. I have since recommended Ali to many friends and without exception they have all found her treatments have really helped. I still go to Ali whenever I feel any twinges. She can always help.

Ali says: When I first saw this patient they presented with a lot of pain in their groin and difficulty lifting their right leg. They also had a problem with stepping through with the right leg, so walking was an issue.  They were also upset because they had been unable to ride their horse for quite some time and were keen to get back to their passion. As a rider myself I totally understood how important this was to overall wellbeing.

I started with a complete straighten up of the skeleton and discovered that the pubic bone was misaligned. This can be quite painful to reposition but using gentle techniques it was coaxed back to where it should be. The patient instantly felt better  but I arranged a follow up appointment a week later to ensure things were still where they should be.

The patient reported that they had felt much better for 4 days following the first treatment but then started to get some discomfort  back again, but they had been able to walk further and do more things at home. There were marked changes to the alignment this time but the pubic bone was still causing trouble and needed realigning again. Once done the patient felt much better afterwards.

A third treatment was arranged and the patient was feeling very much improved and had been able to push the wheelbarrow, poo pick the paddock , and rode her horse again!. The measurements i take when i treat someone were very good and the alignment excellent so i gave them a relaxing massage to release soft tissue.

The aim was to get the patient riding her horse again which we achieved. They still come in for the odd treatment if they feel the need and this keeps on top of any problems that may be brewing.

Client: S.L with her labrador

Issue: My Labrador retriever was born with a deformed front paw , significantly affecting his gait and causing muscle tension in other parts of his body.

Treatment:  After a session with Ali, Blues movement is noticeably easier and he gains a new spring in his step. Blue is always delighted to see Ali and I highly recommend the treatment.

Buddy

Client: S.C. and Buddy

Issue: My boy Buddy is 12 and has severe arthritis in his hips. He has been on YuMove tablets most of his life and is now on the strongest strength but still very stiff and I was desperate to make him more comfortable.

Treatment: Ali started her magic on him!

On Ali’s first visit she took a whole history of Buddy which was extremely thorough. She then analysed his gait at walk and trot, did some flexion and nerve tests before giving him a massage. He absolutely loved it, you could see the joy in his eyes. Ali was so gentle with him as Bud sometimes struggles to sit or lie a certain way but Ali just worked around him making sure he was happy the whole time. After the massage Ali again looked at how he was moving and I saw the difference myself. Bud was moving so much easier and was clearly a lot more comfortable and felt so much softer in his hips. Ali then advised me on what to expect over the next 24 to 48 hours, went through his after care in respect of exercise and additionally gave me some advice on worming and trying him on Salmon Oil. Ali returned a week later, we discussed how Bud had been. Everything Ali said may happen did, including the very long pee! Ali documented everything, then repeated a similar process, which Bud was very excited about and again a huge difference in him was clear to see.

Outcome: Ali now comes about once a month to keep Bud happy and comfortable. He really does seem to have a new lease of life and does little zoomies round the field which he hasn’t been able to do for a while. He is 100% a happier dog both physically and mentally, thank you Ali. I cannot recommend Ali enough. If you have a dog that needs canine massage therapy or just deserves a treat then please give Ali a go. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed and you dog will be a very happy dog.
